A striking feature of his paintings is the use of printed materials as a background. This fits in seamlessly with his vision that art is above all ”close”. An everyday product is transformed into a work of art. What also catches the eye is the very specific use of materials. In recent years, in addition to acrylic paint, van Arendonk has also used colored silicone in his canvases. We also regularly find embroidery, whether or not digitally produced.
Nature is the great teacher for his work.
