Inspired by traditional artist guilds, the studio focuses primarily on decorative arts for the contemporary world. Studio Job creates craft-driven, limited-edition designs, often cast in bronze or from laser-cut, inlaid woods, and often marked by extreme ornamentation. The studio has collaborated with a variety of artisans and brands, including Moooi, Royal Tichelaar Makkum, Bisazza, Bulgari, Venini, and Swarovski. In 2009, the studio opened its own exhibition space for contemporary design and art in Antwerp. In 2011, Smeets and Tynagel expanded once again, converting a post-war villa into Studio Job House, filling it with modern icons and contemporary pieces.
Studio Job has been honored with multiple awards, including Wallpaper Design Awards, Elle Decoration International Design Awards, The Style & Design 100 of Time Magazine, AD Collector Paris and Most Influential Design ranked by Financial Times London. The studio has exhibited across the globe in institutions like the Louvre Museum in Paris, MOMA in New York, Victoria & Albert Museum in London, Salone del Mobile in Milan, many Dutch museums including Groninger Museum in Groningen andy many others world wide.
