Jules Wittock is a Belgian artist based in Brussels, born in 1993, coming from an artistic family. From a very young age, he instinctively started drawing labyrinths, a meditative and almost therapeutic practice for him. This process brings him genuine pleasure, and he strongly believes that joy is at the heart of everything he creates.
Over time, these labyrinths evolved into painted compositions, mainly using acrylic and oil on linen canvas. Each piece features a labyrinth with a single entrance, exit, and solution that reveals a hidden word within the path. The artwork’s title serves as a clue to help decipher it. More recently, his practice has expanded to sculptural materials such as bronze and aluminum, as well as installations, while continuing to explore this graphic and abstract language.
Wittocks likes to leave room for personal interpretation in his work, allowing each viewer to connect with it in their own unique way.
