Over Walasse Ting

In 1957 Ting moved to New York, where his way of working was strongly influenced by, among other things, Pop Art. From the eighties he also lived and worked in Amsterdam, where he shared a studio with Karel Appel. Typical of Ting’s style, the scantily clad women are surrounded by all kinds of animals and flowers, often applied with acrylic on rice paper in bright colours.
Ting’s work has been acquired by museums around the world.
